Golf Injuries

Common Golf Injuries Kam Treats

Most golf injuries are overuse injuries that build up quietly until one round tips them into pain. Over the years, Kam has gained experience with just about every golf injury you can imagine. Choose an area to see what he treats and read the full guide.

Assessment, Diagnosis & Rehab

How It Works

Every golfer gets a clear plan, not just a treatment. Here is how Kam gets you out of pain and back playing with confidence.

  1. 01

    Screen & Assess

A thorough physical assessment of the painful area, the movement feeding it, and how it shows up in your swing. Nothing is left to guesswork.

  2. 02

    Diagnose

A clear explanation of what is going on, why it happened, and exactly what it will take to fix it. In plain language, not jargon.

  3. 03

    Treat

Hands-on work and targeted exercise to settle your symptoms and restore the movement you have lost.

  4. 04

    Rebuild

Progressive loading so the tissue can handle golf again, and your body can produce more clubhead speed.

  5. 05

    Return to Play

A graded return to practice and play, so you come back to the course confident and swinging freely, not tentative.

In His Own Words

A Word From Justin Rose

Hi everybody, Justin Rose here. I'm really excited to hear that you have the opportunity to work with Kam in this developmental phase of your career.

Obviously that is my advice, you know, get stuck in, work hard. The earlier you can get that strength and conditioning base, the more you understand the recovery protocols, they'll kind of continue to stand you in good stead as you continue to push hard and work really hard and create that resilience to sort of have that work ethic but feel fantastic in your mind and your body.

So Kam has a wealth of knowledge and expertise and he's certainly helped guide me through stages of my career, back in the day where I was obviously pushing to get fitter, stronger, but also navigating a few little injuries along the way. So Kam was a wonderful resource for me, as I hope he will be for you.

So enjoy the journey. Above all, work hard, have the passion for it and get stuck in. And I wish you all the very best of luck. I'm very happy that you're in capable hands with Kam. So all the best to you all. Take care.

Common Questions

FAQs

What is golf physiotherapy?

It is physiotherapy focused entirely on the golfer. Rather than treating a sore spot in isolation, Kam assesses how your whole body moves through the swing and treats the cause, whether that is pain, stiffness or a lack of power.

What makes Physio Fore Golf different?

It is golf-only, and it combines physiotherapy with physical performance coaching under one practitioner. Kam Bhabra brings more than twenty years in elite sport, including nine years on the PGA Tour and six at Arsenal Football Club.

Do I need a referral to see a golf physio?

No. You can book a physiotherapy assessment directly. If you are claiming through certain insurers or schemes a referral may help, so check with your provider first.

How much does an assessment cost?

A Golf Fitness Screening and a Golf Injury Assessment are each $160 for 45 minutes, with 30-minute follow-up consults at $125. Golf Fitness Classes are $60 for 60 minutes, and coaching is tailored, so it is quoted after we understand your goals.

What happens in my first appointment?

Kam takes a full history, then screens how your body actually moves and how that plays out in your swing. You leave with a clear diagnosis and a plan, not just a treatment.

Can golf physio help me hit the ball further?

Often yes. A lot of lost distance comes from a body that cannot rotate or load efficiently, so freeing that up and building strength can add real clubhead speed on top of keeping you injury free.

What are the most common golf injuries you treat?

Lower back pain, golfer's elbow and tennis elbow, wrist and hand pain, shoulder pain, and hip and knee issues. You can read a full guide to each on the common golf injuries page.

Can I keep playing golf while I rehab?

Often yes, with some adjustments. Part of the assessment is working out what load your body can handle right now so you can keep playing where it is safe to do so.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the injury and how long it has been there. Many golfers feel a clear shift within the first few sessions, with a plan to keep progressing between visits.

Do you only work with elite or low-handicap golfers?

No. Kam works with golfers of every level, from weekend players to serious low markers. The approach is the same: assess the body, then build it to handle your game.

What is a golf fitness screening?

It is a structured physical assessment that measures your mobility, stability and strength against the demands of the swing. It shows exactly what is holding your game back or setting up an injury.

Do you offer ongoing coaching or an app?

Yes. Physical Performance Coaching is tailored in-person programming, and the EverFit app keeps you working on the patterns built in your sessions between visits.
